Publisher’s black cloth with gilt titles to spine in an unclipped pictorial jacket. Previous owner’s name written neatly to ffep. Jacket shows light shelf wear to edges including a small (5mm approx.) closed nick to spine head. Overall a neat, clean volume. Fine book in Very Good jacket. In-depth analysis of the scenes of Trajan’s Column, with detailed commentary and historical context. From the library of the late Paul Bidwell O.B.E., one of the most respected archaeologists of his generation. He was responsible for the excavation of Vindolanda, and the reconstruction of Segedunum on Hadrian’s Wall.
