FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. [4], lxxi, 180, 16 catalogue. Original sepia photograph frontispiece of the Patriarch mounted with facsimile caption below. Publishers’ royal blue cloth with gilt titles to spine, with both boards decorated in blind. Chestnut brown endpapers. Moderate wear to corners and spine, the latter reinforced with clear adhesive plastic film. Ownership inscriptions with various dates to each side of front free endpaper and reverse of frontispiece. Light foxing to text-block edge and catalogue.
 
This rare work is the entire correspondence between the Nonjuring Bishops and the Patriarchs of the Eastern Church, published here for the first time, with an account of the endeavours to heal the division between the Anglican and Orthodox Eastern Churches. Scarce.
