FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. [12], 143. Three double-sided monochrome photographic plates. Publisher’s burgundy cloth with gilt titles to spine in an unclipped grey & white illustrated dust-jacket. Previous owner’s name and date written neatly to pdep; endpapers are lightly toned and spine head is gently sunned. Jacket front flap crease has been repaired with clear tape, with several small areas of loss to spine tips & corners. Overall a Very Good book in a good jacket.
Scarce, first and only printing of the history of Pallion’s growth and development from a village to a small industrial community, driven largely by the boom in shipbuilding during the Victorian era, written by the vicar of St Luke’s parish.
