A privately printed dummy book, printed using QuarkXpress but never published, in a run of only 6 copies of which this is Number 2 [noted verso of title-page]. Softcover octavo, pp. 175, [5]. Printed pictorial yellow card wraps. “Make your own Quizzard Dice” sheet loosely inserted. Spine and fore-edge covered with transparent adhesive tape, and covers lightly soiled and creased. Contents clean with limitation number inscribed in red ink. Packed full of quiz questions about the Harry Potter characters and books, and made-up during the height of Pottermania, this collection of conundrums is presented as a series of Test Papers, and includes all the answers at the foot of the page. Compiler Jon Smith, the well respected journalist, made up these dummy books with the intention of getting them published by Bloomsbury who rejected the idea. The 6 copies were ultimately distributed to family and friends. One man’s unique and highly imaginative contribution to the biggest publishing phenomenon of the 20th century. £200.00
