Publishers’ airforce blue cloth blocked in gilt to spine and upper board, with map endpapers; upper edges navy; housed in matching blue paper-covered slipcase with gilt motif. An exceptionally clean, neat volume with no annotations or inscriptions. Slipcase shows light surface scuffs. Overall a Fine copy in Near Fine slipcase.
First published as two separate volumes “The Norman Achievement” and “The Norman Fate”, the text of this combined volume follows that of the First Editions with minor emendations and remains a standard work on the subject.
