With six monochrome plates including frontispiece group photograph of the passengers, plus numerous head- and tail-pieces throughout. Fold-out map to rear showing Routes of the North of Scotland & Orkney & Shetland Steam Navigation Company, with sea marked in blue and routes delineated in red. Original pebbled brown cloth with bevelled boards, and gilt titles and decoration to upper board. Spine tips and corners lightly rubbed; scattered light foxing, mainly to endpapers. Gift inscribed to “The Rev. E. D. Roberts with Mr Mundye’s compliments November 1893”. Mr Mundye made the arrangements for the cruise and wrote the preface. A near fine copy. Very rare lively account of a cruise around the Norwegian Fjords, reprinted and revised from the “Wharfedale and Airedale Observer” articles of June 16th and the following weeks. Unsurprisingly rare, with COPAC locating just a single copy, at the National Library of Scotland. £380.00
