Publishers’ black cloth with gilt titles to spine and printed paste-down endpapers in unclipped blue pictorial dust-jackets. Overall clean, bright copies with no annotations or inscriptions. Volume 1 has a single small bruise with associated split (1cm approx.) to spine tail. Volume 2 has a bruise to spine head with 2 associated small splits and small areas of surface loss to spine tail. A very good set. Comprehensive account of North East Shipbuilding from the 17th century to publication, based upon extensive regional archives as well as printed sources, and set against a background of national developments including technical changes and industrial relations.
