Early seventeenth century Book of Common Prayer published by Robert Barker “Printer to the Kings most Excellent Maiestie” Charles I; he was printer to the first two Stuart monarchs, following in the footsteps of his father Christopher who was printer to Elizabeth I. Barker was the publisher of the King James Bible in 1611, one of the most influential texts ever printed in the English language, and co-publisher of the “Wicked Bible”, so called because “Not” was omitted from the Commandment “Thue Shalt Not Commit Adultery”.
