Contemporary half-morocco with gilt titles and gilt thistle motifs repeated to spine, and marbled paper-covered boards. A very good copy with a gift inscription dated 1857 to reverse of frontispiece, which is creased to edge with 2 cm closed tear. Patches of rubbing, a little wear and occasional foxing. A book that been read and used, perhaps a one time childhood favourite! Seven humorous short plays designed as holiday recreation for budding actors, with cast lists from five to eight characters.
