“The Adventures” is a collection of twelve short stories featuring the very earliest portrayal of the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, which were published in twelve monthly issues of the “Strand” Magazine in 1891-2. Their publication in the The Strand magazine was also the first time that Sydney Paget’s illustrations of Holmes were put before the public. Told in a first person narrative the volume contains some of the most memorable of Holmes’ cases including: "A Scandal in Bohemia", "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" and "The Blue Carbuncle”. Usually very well read and with the heavy boards and weighty text-block copies of the first edition of ‘Adventures’ rarely appear in such good condition. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
