An attractive near fine set in like dust-jackets. Dust-jackets a little creased to top edge. With an erudite hand-written review to the front free end-paper of Volume I, by a Helen Thorpe, most probably the American journalist and author. Otherwise, contents clean and crisp. A comprehensive range of letters from one of the greatest literary figures of the twentieth century, selected for their bearing on his work. The letters published in this set include letters to friends, artists, students, publishers, translators and other colleagues in the world of literature and theatre.
