Publishers’ original decorative cloth with foliate design and broder in blind to boards, and gilt roundel to upper board with Lewes title and armorial; primrose yellow endpapers. Corners bruised and spine tips a little rubbed. Ownership inscriptions to front paste-down and front free end-paper in ink, leaves toned with light foxing. A very good copy. Second edition of the first guide book to the historic town of Lewes, with a short history including the battle of 1264, brief biographies of local notables and descriptions of local landmarks, architecture and antiquities.
