Third edition. Octavo, pp. vi, 72. With 38 exquisite multi-image hand coloured numbered plates as called for, drawn and engraved by F. P. Nodder. Full mottled tan calf, double gilt fillet border to boards with gilt titles to red label to spine, rebacked. Marbled endpapers. Boards lightly surface scuffed with wear to corners. Shelf reference in ink to verso ffep; a little scattered light foxing as usual otherwise contents clean. A very good copy.
 
Martyn and Nodder collaborated on other works, notably “Flora Rustica”. Martyn (1735-1825) was Professor of Botany at Cambridge and lectured on the Linnaean system. Hunt, 732; ESTC T081068.
