First Edition. Large octavo, pp., xvi, 281, [1]. Complete with 18 tissue-guarded plates including frontispiece of the Earl of Durham and colour plate of The Butte of Warlencourt; 18 folding maps in pocket to lower board, as called for. Original dark green cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt crest to upper board. This is the more elaborate cloth variant with gilt embossed titles and DLI crest. Spine tips rubbed & boards lightly scuffed, with 2 small puncture holes to lower board. A little very slight foxing, mainly to endpapers, otherwise contents clean and bright. A very good copy.

The exhaustive nine appendices at end cover over 50 pages and list the regiments records of battles and engagements, a full list of commanding officers, lists of casualties of all ranks as well battle honours received.
