Bound in publisher’s gold thin card wrappers with metro tunnel peep-hole cut-out. Minor shelfwear to wraps, internally clean with tissue guards free from nicks and tears. A very good copy. Vibrantly illustrated piece of transport memorabilia commemorating the opening of the first underground electric railway system in the North East. With photos of the construction process, the trains, stations and the system control room etc. It also features the original graphic map of the light rail system, which in 1981 was much more restricted than today. Signed to the verso of the front wrapper by eight of those involved in the construction including Desmond Fletcher, Tony King, and Bill Bradley. £75.00
