Hardback octavo; pp., 155, plus photographic frontispiece depicting the fusiliers in 1918, and 14 further full-page photographic plates; fold-out map to end. Publisher’s olive green cloth with gilt title and badge of the fusiliers to spine. A few almost imperceptible spots of soiling to covers, corners gently bumped, very light shelf-wear to head and tail of spine. Edges of contents lightly foxed. Content generally crisp and bright. Small tear of approximately 1cm to hinge of map, which affects the margin only. A very good copy of a rare book.
A first edition of a rare regimental history. Includes a foreword by Col. Edward Riddell of Hexham, formerly Brigadier-General Commanding 149th Infantry Brigade. Among recollections of the regiment in the First World War, the book includes a list of the men of the regiment who proceeded abroad on the 21st April 1915.
