First edition. Octavo, pp., vii, [1], 312. Publisher’s original sage green cloth, titled in black to spine, ornamental motif to upper board, in the publisher’s unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Toning to spine-panel and extremities of dust jacket, some small nicks to spine-tips and corners. Cloth clean save some very light dust-marks to head of boards, binding square and solid. Occasional light scattered foxing to contents, free from inscriptions and annotations. A very good copy in like jacket. The second book in Bramah’s much loved Kai Lung fantasy series, and the first to feature a preface by poet Hillaire Belloc (1870-1953), which became a feature of every subsequent edition. £85.00
