Publishers’ deep blue cloth with gilt titles to upper board, in unclipped cream pictorial dust-jacket with monochrome photographic portrait of Churchill at his desk by Cecil Beaton to upper cover, and catalogue to lower. Spine tips and corners very lightly rubbed. Bold gift inscription in blue ink to front free endpaper: “For Albert White from Cecil Roberts”; contents clean and crisp. Jacket lightly surface soiled and toned, with slight loss at spine tips. A near fine copy in a very good dust-jacket

Edric Cecil Mornington Roberts (1892-1976) was a prolific poet and journalist, who worked for Lord Halifax, the UK Ambassador to the US during the War.
