Inscribed First Edition. Octavo, pp. 282, [6] index, errata etc. Pebbled taupe cloth with gilt titles to spine. With a folded single A5 ALS from the author to one Major Botshill loosely inserted, dated 12th January 1944. Spine rubbed at tips with 1 cm split to upper joint. Front hinge cracked but holding well; leaves browned. Gift inscription in ink to front free endpaper “To Major Botshill who is sincerely attached to my country- most sincerely Pavel Pavel January 1944 London”. A very good copy.
 
Translated from the Romanian. Study of the political system in the early twentieth century including foreign policy, coups and assassinations, influence of external powers and party politics, with Preface by Wickham Steed. Scarce, especially with a lengthy letter from the author.
