First Edition. Small quarto, pp., [12]. Illustrated in colour throughout with moving articulated pop-ups. Bound in publisher’s illustrated boards with apricot cloth strip to spine. Boards lightly worn to bottom corner and lightly creased to edges. Colouring to boards and contents bright and vibrant, and free from inscriptions and ownership marks. All moveable parts present, fully working, and free from nicks and tears. A very good copy. Exquisitely designed and engineered by Czech set designer Rudolf Lukes. With six double page spreads of moving circus scenes featuring bowing lions, cycling trapeze artists, and seesawing elephants. Very reminiscent of Artia publications of the same period. Scarce, especially so in this condition. £60.00
