Widely considered one of the first Christian Existentialists, Kierkegaard’s work focuses mainly on the act of living as a ‘single individual’. “The Present Age” is an analysis of the movements of his day, both social and political. It shares a name with one of his notable theories, the theory of present age which argues that the present has drained the the meaning from ethics through ‘passionless insolence’.
