Duodecimo, pp., vii, [5], 182. Quarter skiver on grey paper-covered boards, titles printed to upper board. Bookplate of Thomas Bradshaw to front paste-down. Upper board soiled, significant loss to spine, but still holding, a little shelf wear to edges. Contents very lightly toned but clean. A good copy of a rare book.

An excessively rare artefact of North Yorkshire library history. Subscription libraries such as this proliferated throughout Britain in the early nineteenth-century, providing members with access to books. The printing of the library rules, the list of subscribers, and the library catalogue here provides a unique insight into literary culture in Yorkshire in the middle of the 19th c.
