First edition. Octavo, pp., xvi, 327. Publisher’s navy blue cloth with gilt titles and pentagram to spine, with title and decoration blocked in black to upper board. Dark brown endpapers Top edge untrimmed with some pages unopened, some rubbing and creasing to spine tips and corners. Purple ink stain to lower right corner of upper board, with a smaller stain on lower board. Contents clean with no annotations or inscriptions.
A collection of work on the supernatural, collected and arranged by Anglican priest and writer Frederick Lee, with chapters including ‘Warnings of Danger and Death’, ‘Apparitions’, ‘Divination’ and ‘Miracles of Healing’. A prolific author on the subject of the Anglican church and religious topics, this work on the supernatural was one of the last published before his death in 1902.
