Publisher’s pebbled crimson cloth over card wraps, titled within elaborate pictorial design to upper board in gilt, oval photographic vignette of Madras Egmore railway station mounted to upper board, titled in gilt to spine. Historic ownership inscriptions to ffep and annotations to one page only. Blind stamp of the eminent and historic Higginbotham’s of Madras and Bangalore to title-page. Spine cocked, upper joint cracked, photographic vignette rubbed. Light scattered foxing to edges, not affecting text or plates, tear to first plate. Overall, a very good copy.
