Original publisher’s green cloth, titled in gilt to spine, coral-and-shell ornaments gilt to spine, fore-edge uncut. Contemporary ownership inscription to front free endpaper in ink. A very good copy. A little shelf-wear to spine-tips, with a hint of slight scuffing to boards and joints. Slight toning and the usual light spots of foxing to margins only. Conrad’s first volume of non-fiction. An unusual and continuous reminiscence of the author’s time at sea.
