First Grosset & Dunlap edition, conforming to all the points in the standard bibliographies. Hardcover octavo, pp., 172, 144, plus two black-and-white frontispieces for each story by the author’s son, John Coleman Burroughs. Publisher’s royal-blue cloth, smooth red lettering to spine and upper board, in the original pictorial dust-jacket. Top edge dyed red, fore-edge untrimmed. Slight nicks to jacket, and some staining to verso. Spine slightly sunned, suggesting jacket was supplied from another copy. Light scattered foxing to fore-edge. Overall, a very good copy.
Two stories bound as one, originally published in separate magazines. Scarce.
