A scarce self published account and tribute to the author’s father Lemuel Bevan, and others who fought and lost their lives in the capture and occupation of the Greek Dodecanese islands by German forces during World War II. The Battle of Leros was waged in autumn 1943, ending at when the Allies surrendered in 16 November 1943. Bevan served in the King’s Own Royal Regiment before being captured, transported to Athens and onward to Germany as a Prisoner of War.
