Uncle Tom's Cabin is an anti-slavery novel by American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Originally published in two volumes in 1852, the novel had a profound effect on attitudes toward slavery in the USA, and is credited with fueling the abolitionist cause in the 1850s. Uncle Tom's Cabin was the best-selling novel in the 19th century USA, and second best-selling book overall after the Bible. An attractive Edwardian reprint.
