A collection of stories by Hans Ewers (1871-1943) whose major literary themes were obsession, depravity and blood. He travelled extensively world-wide, was a propagandist/spy during the first world war, a screenwriter, poet, playwright, and correspondent with Aleister Crowley. A prodigious drug user and he had associations with members of the Nazi party. His works are scarce and English translations were previously only available in rare and costly 1920s editions.
