A scarce antiquarian study of ancient peoples, primarily of the Isles of Britain and Ireland, by an Irish genealogist and herald. William Betham (1779-1853) was Ulster King of Arms (1820-53), a member of the Royal Irish Academy, and of the American Antiquarian Society, Betham is best recognised for his creation of pedigrees from all of the perogative wills of Ireland from 1536-1800. This volume is Betham’s attempt to describe the genealogical origins of a number of ancient peoples.
