A good copy in very good jacket. Williamson’s ‘moving and seemingly effortless’ account of his time at Old Hall Farm, Stiffkey. Williamson occupied Old Hall Farm from December 1937 to September 1945, and this volume describes the origins of the project in 1935, to the summer of 1939. Williamson begun a sequel, which became Lucifer Before Sunrise, and told further stories of the farm in The Phasian Bird, In the Woods, and A Solitary War. £75.00
