The first edition of Wells’ speculative history of the twentieth century, ending in 2106, which predicted a global economic crisis, the use aircraft in the bombing of cities, and the development of weapons of mass destruction. The Shape of Things to Come directly influenced Golden Age science-fiction writers including Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, and Poul Anderson, who came of age in the decade following the book’s publication. £650.00
