Collector John William Pease of Pendower and Nether Grange at Alnmouth (1836-1901) founded the Newcastle City Library's Pease Bequest, a collection of material relating to Thomas Bewick which includes over 300 books, pictures, woodblocks and artefacts including Bewick’s work table and his tool chest. Joseph Crawhall was given the tool chest in 1882 by Thomas' daughter Isabella Bewick, for acting as her executor; he was engaged in the last of these duties during the authorship of the Chorographia. The chest is now on display at the City Library in Newcastle upon Tyne. Felver; pp 55 -62.
