Half calf with marbled paper-covered boards; all edges marbled with matching endpapers. Five raised bands; red leather label with gilt titles and gilt line decoration to compartments. Ffep attached to first blank; sporadic foxing throughout. Ownership inscription in ink to title page dated 1828. Speeches by eight Irish orators, each accompanied by brief biographical notes. The subjects are Edmund Burke, John Philpot Curran, Henry Grattan, Richard Brinsley Sheridan, Peter Burrows, Charles Kendal Bushe, William Cunningham Plunkett and Henry Flood and subject matter of the speeches covers a variety of topics including the impeachment of Warren Hastings, the liberty of the press, the competency of the Irish government, filial piety and the dog tax bill.
