Book Condition: Very Good. Original tan cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine and gilt-stamped vignette of mountaineers in panel to upper board, with matching blindstamped vignette to lower. Brown endpapers. Retailer's blindstamp to ffep plus two handwritten names, one neatly scored through. Last leaves lightly foxed; some fingermarking to textblock edge. Minor marginal annotation in faint pencil. Slightly shaken with rear inner hinge cracked but sound. Boards edge-rubbed with wear to corners and at head of spine; minor loss upper front joint and a couple of bumps to edge. Spine a little toned. Scarce copy of the "Knapsack" edition, smaller than its predecessors and suitable for taking on an expedition. £75.00
