Book Condition: Very Good. Red quarter calf with gilt line decoration over blue cloth with gilt titles to upper board. Minor loss to spine tips. Cover cloth surface soiled with wear to corners; upper corners bumped. Endpapers a little toned; tissue guard creased with light foxing. Gift inscription handwritten to ffep by the Author, John Dobson's daughter Margaret, to Anne Craggs, his housekeeper, dated 1886. Scarce copy of the only edition of this comprehensive work on the celebrated Northumbrian architect, who has a street in central Newcastle named in his memory. Dobson worked at many of the larger domestic properties in the North of England, as well as numerous churches and civic & commercial premises. Rare.
