Contemporary quarter leather with four raised bands, blind decoration to compartments and gilt titles; marbled paper-covered boards. All edges marbled; light brown endpapers. Edges rubbed and worn particularly at corners & tail of spine; front joint Vol II starting with associated split at second raised band. Boards a little surface scuffed. Inner hinges weak. Library presentation plate and numbers to front pastedowns; some staining to endpapers. Scattered foxing and the usual offsetting, particularly to plates.
