FIRST EDITION. Green pebbled cloth portfolio with gilt titles to upper board and triple border in blind to boards; primrose yellow endpapers. 4 page printed insert with 13 numbered photographic plates as called for, each photograph mounted on thick cream card and captioned with Tennyson verse below, with printed border. Lacks cord ties. Unobtrusive surface wear to upper board; repair to inner hinge and light marking to inner flaps. Left margin of mounts lightly toned; some mounts a little corner creased and a little scattered light foxing. Overall Very Good condition.
Collected photographic plates of Skelton Beck at Saltburn, inspired by Tennyson’s thirteen-verse poem with one plate per verse interpreting the poet’s description. Scarce.
