FIRST EDITION. Small quarto (18.5 cm x 12.5 cm), pp. vi, 162. 6 fold-out plates including frontispiece plan of Newcastle and Gateshead, and long Map of the River Tyne with water marked in colour. Original pebbled purple cloth with foliate decoration in blind to boards, and gilt titles to upper board. Primrose yellow endpapers. Spine and board edges sunned, with wear and minor loss at spine tips. Ownership inscription to ffep; a little underlining and annotation in blue ink. Minor loss to margin only of table of Sea-Sale collieries; repairs to reverse of maps. Overall a Good copy.
