FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. 108. Tinted lithograph gate-fold frontispiece of Crumlin Viaduct; numerous illustrations from engravings, of which 13 full-page. Re-cased with original two-tone bevelled inlaid; new endpapers. Gilt titles to spine and upper board and triple border in blind to boards with foliate motifs inside corners. All edges stained red. Lithograph lightly foxed,; ownership inscription to title page in ink, dated 1872, and a little minor marginal annotation to tables to rear. A Very Good copy.
Handy guide to estimates for engineering works, particularly useful for those working abroad, based upon work carried out by the Viaduct Works situated beneath Crumlin Viaduct - the works were in fact erected for the purpose of building the viaduct and went on to manufacture materials for many other engineering projects. Scarce.
