Publisher: Richard Bentley, London;
Edition: 1st Edition
Date of Publication: 1860
Stock Code: 796

FIRST EDITION. Octavo. 155 pp. Frontispiece showing Facsimiles of Collier's pen and pencil corrections to the 1632 text plus two further facsimiles, one of which is double-page. Original blind-stamped red cloth with gilt titles. Cover cloth a little discoloured and showing wear to extremities, with small split across head of spine. Inner front hinge tender but holding, endpapers lightly soiled. Overall a very good copy. An important work in the history of Shakespeare - the Author spotted that Collier's notes in the Perkins Folio were fraudulent and exposed his deception to the public. Scarce.
