Based on a true story this is the tale of late 19th century detectives hunting down a band of bank robbers across several western states. Allan Pinkerton (1819-1884) the Scottish American detective and spy, is best known for the creation of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, and he based many of his writings on events that he experienced in his career. Robert ‘Bob’ Pinkerton and his twin brother William succeeded their father as Pinkerton agents in the late 1860s. Cover cloth rubbed with minor wear at spine tips and corners. Leaves toned, especially to edge, and inner hinge cracked at pp. 72-3. Overall a very good copy.
