FIRST EDITIONS variously dated 1995-2002, with Index Volume 1998. Folio, unpaginated. Publishers’ brown cloth with gilt titles and motifs to spine and upper board, in unclipped pictorial dust-jackets; Index volume softcover quarto in printed card wraps. A Very Good set. Spine tips a little rubbed; contents clean with retailer’s label to front paste-down Volume I; no annotation or inscriptions. Dust-jackets lightly creased to edge. Volume 3 substantially more well-read than the other 5 volumes with lower corners bumped and worn, text-block edges and end-papers lightly soiled and dust-jacket creased with several tears and small loss to edge and 13 cm split at front fold. Index volume covers lightly soiled and creased, with minor creasing also to leaves at upper right corner, otherwise contents clean. Authoritative and invaluable work documenting the thousands of vessels lost around the coast of Britain and Ireland, by the husband-and-wife team of divers and writers Bridget and Richard Larn. Each entry provides information on the date of wreck, location, co-ordinates, type of vessel and other essential details, with occasional maps, photos and diagrams. Scarce as a set, particularly with dust-jackets. Excessively heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery. £425.00
