First edition. Large folio, pp., [8], 20. Frontispiece and 15 additional lithograph proof plates on India paper by Simeon Rayner, as called for. In original moss green moiré cloth with gilt cartouche containing title ornament. Neatly rebacked, minor edge wear, mild scattered foxing and toning to edges of plates. New endpapers. A clean, tight copy with all tissue guards and plates present. With an mid nineteenth century engraved trade-card of ‘R. Moseley Carver and Gilder to the King, Jeweller, Silversmith, Picture Gallery & Fancy Repository, Derby...” to front paste-down. A small, neat, contemporary inscription indicating female provenance “To Miss Eliza Turnbull[?] from a Derbyshire Friend Sept 11th 1847”.
