Fine book in Near Fine slipcase. Le Fanu’s masterpiece of the Victorian Gothic. It was first published in 1864, six years prior to his sapphic vampire novella Carmilla. Uncle Silas shows a strong interest in the occult and Swedenborgian mysticism. The novella is an early example of the locked-room mystery genre.
