Numerous photographic illustrations by the author to plates (complete) and fold-out Map illustrating the operations of Serbian and French armies in Macedonia July-November 1916. Publishers’ blue cloth with titles in gilt to spine and in blind to upper board. Printed compliments slip “From the Author” laid-in, with inscription. Boards scuffed with wear at corners and spine tips; corners bruised. Free endpapers toned; scattered foxing; a few leaves roughly opened, and a few creased from proximity to folding map. Compliments slip creased and soiled at edge, and inscribed “with best Christmas wishes”. A Good copy.

Edward Percy Stebbing (1872-1960) was a pioneering English forester and entomologist who spent significant time in India; he joined the Royal Flying Corps in the Great War and served in Macedonia.
