Nesta Webster’s first book on the subject of the French Revolution, an historical romance based around the life of the French statesman and writer Chevalier de Boufflers. Webster believed that she was reincarnated from that period, and credited a theory that continental freemasons were responsible for the Revolution; she also promoted anti-semitic beliefs and theories about the illuminati, and associated with fascist groups in the inter-war years.
