Top edge blue, illustrated endpapers, in matching unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Clean and bright, with slight toning to free endpapers. Dust-jacket torn with splits at folds and moderate loss to edge. A near fine copy book in a good dust-jacket.
Uniform with Cassell’s editions of “Treasure Island” and “Kidnapped” and rare in the fragile original dust-jacket. The American artist N. C. Wyeth (1882-1945) is well known for his illustrations for classic titles of literature, with his exquisite plates for Stevenson’s novels regarded as some of his finest work.
