16 stories by various contributors, including “Betsy Jane” by Louis Wain, charmingly illustrated with Wain’s characteristic anthropomorphic depictions of felines (and a handful of canines). Queen Mary and George V’s first international tour following his accession was to the Delhi Durbar in India, and the royal couple sailed from Portsmouth on the “Medina”; this presentation copy was given by the Queen to a child from the Royal Seamen & Marines’ Orphan Schools and Female Orphan Home in Portsmouth.
