Publisher’s pictorial soft card wraps with titles to spines and upper wraps. Slight sunning to spines. Part II has previous owner’s name written neatly in ink to half title and light creasing to upper corner.
 
Covers the history of the line from opening to closure; the Author lived in three station houses on the Branch, where his father was Station Master, and set up a railway museum at the school in Blyth where he was headmaster. The only comprehensive history of the Blyth and Tyne Railway, later incorporated into the modern Metro.
